A New Perspective on Memory Care

Our Betty’s Harbor memory care neighborhoods are specially designed living spaces and supporting environments created to meet the needs of those living with the cognitive challenges of dementia or Alzheimer’s.

As Alzheimer’s or dementia progresses, the physical demands on the caregiver can be overwhelming. But, please know, considering moving your loved one to our memory care community is not a sign of weakness. It’s a sign of love. Our program is based on the concept that each resident can live life on purpose through engaging moments of joy. To achieve that, we’re employing some of the best thinking in dementia care, wrapped around our Four Pillars, to offer the most vibrant physical, mental, and social activities that keep our residents happily busy all day long. For instance, we employ the acclaimed Music & Memory® program to tap deep memories lost to dementia and bring residents “back to life”, enabling them to feel like themselves again. To converse, socialize and stay present. Betty’s Harbor is a calming setting where your loved one will feel safe and secure. A place where they’ll start living life again. At the end of an engaging day loaded with enjoyable moments, they’ll hit the pillow and fall fast asleep, tired, after a day of purposeful living. We know you’ll find New Perspective Senior Living a real haven for your loved one and a godsend for your own peace of mind and well-being.

Perhaps you’re not quite ready to take the next steps towards Betty’s Harbor. We invite you to sit down with us to learn how our approach will help your loved one age with success and dignity.

4 Pillars and Memory Care

Physical Fitness

Exercise keeps our bodies fit and produces neurons. And, neurons help our brain work better. Residents get their bodies moving with appropriate exercises multiple times each day. It helps the brain and the appetite.

Brain Fitness

Our brain is a muscle that can get weak, flabby and out of shape. Residents participate in memory-stimulating, group activities and computer exercises several times a day to awaken their memories and engage in life.

Scientists believe social activity and engagement is vital to slow the advancement of memory related issues. We engage our residents in topical discussions and group activities that probe the recesses of their memories to help them engage socially.

Research suggests people eat better in the company of others. So, for us, dining in Betty’s Harbor is a social event. As a group, our residents enjoy a tasty, balanced diet of favorites in a beautiful, home-like atmosphere.
