What is independent living?
Independent living (IL) is for active seniors who need no assistance with activities of daily living (ADL). Think of IL as living fully on your own but without the hassle of chores such as lawn mowing and housekeeping, which New Perspective provides.
What is assisted living?
For those who need a little more help with Activities of Daily Living, assisted living (AL) provides the independence of IL, but with additional help as needed.
What is memory care?
Memory care (MC) is a special type of community set up for residents with dementia or Alzheimer’s. Memory care staff is specially trained and equipped to support the residents in their daily activities in a secured environment.
Does Medicaid, Medicare, or long-term care insurance cover assisted living?
Some government programs cover assisted living. Look up Medicaid benefits in your state so you understand the specific eligibility and coverage you have. Additionally, Veterans and their spouses may qualify for assisted living benefits.
