Commonly Asked Questions

What’s included with the cost of assisted living at New Perspective?

When you live at New Perspective, you’ll automatically have access to:
  • A calendar full of activities every day
  • Spacious, pet-friendly residences
  • Scratch Made Meals
  • On-site physical therapy as needed
  • On-site transportation
  • Libraries
  • Friendly neighbors and team members
  • And Plenty more (Varies by community)
And, of course, we take care of all the unpleasant chores, such as housekeeping and landscaping. Instead of mowing the lawn, spend your afternoon at the movies with your friends! Instead of cleaning the bathroom, get your hair done!

What is assisted living?

Assisted living communities offer a supportive environment for individuals who require some assistance with activities of daily living (ADL) while retaining a degree of independence. Housekeeping services and daily prepared meals are provided so you can enjoy a comfortable and stress-free living environment. Some Activities of Daily Living you or your loved one might need help with in assisted living include:
  • Dressing
  • Bathing
  • Grooming
  • Medication management and reminders
  • Medical transportation
  • Assistance getting into and out of bed
  • Daily medical needs such as taking blood pressure or going to physical therapy
Our team works with residents and their families to maximize independence and activity with the right amount of help.

When is it time for assisted living?

For adult children, it can be challenging to know whether or not assisted living is right for their parents. Here are some signs that it might be time to consider moving your older loved one into assisted living:
  • Difficulty with daily activities, such as bathing, dressing, or grooming
  • Forgetting to take their medication or having trouble managing their health conditions
  • Experiencing mobility issues or has had a recent fall
  • Becoming increasingly isolated and lonely
Remember, assisted living is not a nursing home. Your loved one will be well-cared for by a staff of warm professionals who excel in their elder care roles. Your parent will also be encouraged to socialize and stay active for both their physical and mental health.

Does Medicaid, Medicare, or long-term care insurance cover assisted living?

Some government programs cover assisted living. Look up Medicaid benefits in your state so you understand the specific eligibility and coverage you have. Additionally, Veterans and their spouses may qualify for assisted living benefits.
