Feb. 25, 2018 – West Bend, WI – Family and friends, staff and scouts lined the hallways of New Perspective Senior Living early Saturday morning for a homecoming parade. The event was a virtual Stars and Stripes Honor Flight brought to veterans at the senior facility in West Bend.
Members of the West Bend High School band provided some patriotic music as veterans from WWII and the Korean War marched through the entryway.

There were colorful red, white, and blue posters along with flags, kids holding signs, and generous applause and thanks for service.
Veterans were appreciative of the effort. “I’ve been on the Honor Flight myself but this was so uplifting,” said WWII veteran Dean Schwichtenberg.
Brady Schultz, 12, of Kewaskum said he learned to support all veterans “and my grandpa.”
“I love to support him,” said Schultz.
He and his family attended the Honor Flight in Appleton.
