Exectutive Director

Matt Thompson is responsible for ensuring that all residents receive compassionate, respectful care. He oversees the overall operations of the building and strives to ensure that all residents, visitors, and employees feel welcome and valued. Matt’s mission is to provide the best home for all who reside at Columbia Heights.

Matt passionately invests in people. He has been in leadership roles throughout his life and prefers to be in a state of perpetual growth. He has worked in Assisted Living/Memory Care leadership roles in both North Dakota and South Dakota. He began his career in long-term care through an Executive Director in Training (EDIT) program. Through the EDIT program, he traveled through 6 states learning from dozens of leaders, helped to stabilize struggling communities, and gained great perspective on how leadership affects the culture and success of a community.

Matt received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Augustana University in Sioux Falls. Matt majored in English, minored in Communications, and took numerous marketing courses.

Matt is married to his best friend, Jen, and is happy to live in the land of 10,000 lakes. As an avid outdoorsman, he loves to exercise, traveling, and exploring new terrain on his bike. He views each day as a new adventure waiting to be explored.

Bridget holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Human Services Specialist from Rochester Community and Technical College and she has worked in senior care since 2006. During that time she has helped seniors in a multitude of roles, including caregiving, activities, sales and being the business office coordinator and Executive Director.

She loves the warm weather, making time to cook with loved ones and exercising in the morning to start her day. Bridget also likes to brighten her day by starting the morning with a positive quote.

Bridget's goal is to help even more seniors enrich their lives from living at NPSL | Columbia Heights.
